Congregational Membership

Colorado Interfaith Power and Light (CoIPL) seeks to join with faith communities to collaborate towards a more sustainable future.  A congregation or a group within it can become a congregational member by picking one or more of the following activities to commit to as an expression of our collaboration.

  • Arrange for an energy audit of your congregation and begin making energy efficiency improvements to your congregation’s buildings;
  • Adopt more environment-friendly practices for purchasing, using, and disposing of supplies and for transportation for congregation-related purposes;
  • Hold awareness enhancing and informational programs or study series for your members and/or neighbors on energy stewardship and climate change;
  • Establish an ongoing group (e.g., “green team,” “creation care,” “earth stewardship committee”) within the congregation to address climate change and other environmental concerns;
  • Encourage your members to join/support CoIPL as individuals;
  • Advocate with public officials to reduce the threat of climate change through public policy;
  • Make a meaningful annual financial contribution to CoIPL (checks may be made out to CoIPL); donations of $100 or more entitle the congregation to a free education program.
    Please note:  There is no membership fee and a donation is not a requirement of membership.  However, CoIPL relies on generous donations from congregations for much of our funding.
