Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

Chinese Proverb

"(Human beings) regard themselves, their ideas and their feelings as separate and apart from all the rest (of creation). This illusion is a sort of prison; it restricts us to our personal aspirations and limits our affective life to a few people very close to us. Our task should be to free ourselves from this prison, opening up our circle of compassion in order to embrace all living creatures and all of nature in its beauty."
Albert Einstein, 1879-1955

Colorado IP&L is one of 18 chapters in the country. We are growing nationwide with your help!

In 1997, Interfaith Power & Light (IP&L) originated as Episcopal Power & Light. Currently, IP&L is part of The Regeneration Project, which has the goal of establishing IP&L programs throughout the country. The mission is to provide a religious response to global warming.

Colorado IP&L has followed the guidelines for forming a chapter, which include:

  • Is a faith-based effort
  • Is inclusive of multiple faith traditions
  • A steering committee or board of directors that includes faith community leaders
  • Advocates for clean energy, conservation and responsible stewardship of Creation
  • Includes addressing global warming as part of the rationale for taking action

We continue our work through the efforts of people who share our mission of education and outreach in their places of worship.
