Congregational Eco Audits
An excellent educational program to help people both learn more about sustainability and understand how they can apply it in their own lives is through doing an Eco Audit™ for the congregation’s facility. An Eco Audit is a high level energy and lifestyle CO2 analysis program that helps individuals and organizations understand how they are using energy, where they are spending money, their carbon footprint totals, and their best ways to reduce it.
The program starts with collecting 12 months of utility data, vehicles and miles driven, and waste totals. A sustainability survey is included to rate where the congregation is in other areas such as recycling, purchasing, and other sustainable practices. We then provide feedback and recommendations for saving money and becoming more sustainable. The audit report will provide the following information:
- Graphs showing your energy usage mix and costs
- Carbon Footprint
- Seasonal energy use graphs
- Potential savings forecasts
- Recommendations
Program Costs:
- BASIC: $399 Eco Audit with report and recommendations
- FULL: $699 Eco Audit with report and also includes a 1 hour walk through by a commercial auditor and a presentation for members and staff by CoIPL, and 12 months of tracking.
- A $99 discount can be applied to either Eco Audit when the congregation compiles all required data into the Eco Audit Excel spreadsheet supplied by CoIPL.
