CoIPL Speakers’ Bureau

Please contact Betty Goebel if your congregation or a group within it would like to arrange for a presentation customized to meet your group’s needs and interests. We also present to groups that are not faith-oriented.
Possible topics include:
–Introduction to Climate Change and steps we can take to address it
–Energy Efficiency at Home (Energy Savers workshops) (suggested donation to cover costs: $150)
–Creating a “green team” in your congregation, resources for “greening” your facility
–”Our Choice” presentation from The Climate Reality Project and the Alliance for Climate Protection. (Betty Goebel is a certified Climate Project presenter.)
–”Cool Harvest:” a look at how food practices contribute to climate change, and how we can eat more sustainably.
–Creation care sermons: Rev. Nelson Bock, Lutheran (ELCA), is available for your congregation.
–Youth group presentations: Mike O’Toole, a UCAR employee and member of The Globe Project, works with youth, including youth trips to Mt. Kilimanjaro to study glacier changes.
We suggest a donation* to help cover expenses for a presentation, but we are committed to providing educational programs and will do so even if a group cannot afford to donate. At the present time, there is no charge for “Our Choice” or “Extreme Weather” presentations.
*Suggested minimum donation is $75. Congregations often donate $100 to $150. Congregations that make a donation of $100 or more as a membership donation are entitled to a free educational program.
